Cranes of the East Bay

P1020427         These are ‘Post Super Panamax’ cranes at the Port of Oakland. The largest ones are 380 feet tall. They were imported from China in 2005. The ship bringing them had to wait for low tide, so they could fit under the bridges. They cleared the Golden Gate by 15 feet, the Bay bridge by 6 feet.
