Graffiti of Great Value and Just Regular Graffiti

In an alley off of Van Ness Avenue is this bit of graffiti art. Someone bolted some plexiglass over it, presumably because they think it’s by the famous Banksy. Couldn’t it be by the less famous Blek Le Rat? Banksy said about Blek: “every time I think I’ve painted something slightly original, I find out that Blek Le Rat has done it as well, only twenty years earlier.”

Edit: the knowledgeable Kevin Montgomery of  Uptown Almanac wrote in to say that Banksy said, on his website, that this is his work. Here’s one of the surviving pieces by Girafa. Famous all over the Tenderloin and Mission districts.Mr. Scary. These mutant wheatpaste bunnies are popping everywhere. I guess they are multiplying, as bunnies are known to do.
