In the Presidio: Andy Goldsworthy’s “Wood Line”

In November of last year, British artist Andy Goldsworthy installed a piece called ‘Wood Line’ in the Presidio.

It consists of eucalyptus logs laid out in a long, curving line.

Kind of difficult to photograph. If you click on the picture, it will enlarge, and maybe give you a better idea of the work.

Well put together, its charm is rather subtle. Nice that it’s biodegradable.

Not easy to find, it’s near a trail called Lover’s Lane. Whatever you think of the art, it gets you to a beautiful grove in the Presidio, and that’s a wonderful thing in itself.
