Living Sculpture and a Living Sculptor

Revisited Patrick Dougherty’s sculpture at the Palo Alto art center. Some of the willow and alder branches have taken root, it’s alive! Original post here.

It’s a wonderful piece and it smells good.

Behind the willow and alder sculpture I noticed a guy making a video of another sculpture. I hadn’t really noticed it before, though it’s been there for 30 years. It’s kinetic, it moves. At first I thought it was plugged in, but it turns out to be powered by the wind.

A wonderful work, wish I’d seen it earlier.

Along with the video guy was the sculptor himself, Jerome Kirk!

Much respect to the Palo Alto Art Center.
