Wonderful Wheatpastes

Next to the White Walls Gallery on Larkin Street is a dive bar called the Gangway. The front of the Gangway has often been used by artists who have too much art to fit in the gallery.

These have since been painted over, or ‘buffed’ as graffiti people say.

EDIT: Lisa wrote in to say that the artist is David Ball, and he has a show around the corner at 941 Geary. That’s the gallery that used to be an auto repair shop, where my girlfriend used to get her smog certificate. They didn’t change the outside, so for all the world it still looks like an auto repair shop.

Thanks Lisa!
