High-Water Mark in EPA

San Francisquito Creek flows through East Palo Alto. After years of drought, we’re getting a good year of rain, and the creek is nearing flood stage.

Not much room left on the gauge.

Where the creek goes under West Bayshore Road, there are big screens to prevent debris from going under and plugging up the stream there. An excavator is stationed there through the winter to clean the screens. Today the road is blocked by a huge pile of debris.

Lots of people are along the banks, looking at this natural phenomenon. I saw some people loading their belongings in a van, in case it floods. Exciting times in EPA.
